Release Manager/DevOps - Salesforce & Copado Location: Remote - MUST BE ABLE TO WORK PST HOURS Job Summary: The Salesforce Release Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end release process of Salesforce solutions across multiple environments. This role ensures that updates, enhancements, and new features are delivered smoothly, securely, and efficiently from development to production, maintaining system stability and integrity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Salesforce administration or development, DevOps practices, and release management processes. Key Responsibilities Release Planning & Coordination Develop and manage release schedules and plans. Coordinate with developers, admins, QA, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure timely and successful releases. Manage the end-to-end release lifecycle across teams and environments. Environment Management Maintain and manage multiple Salesforce environments (e.g., Dev, QA, UAT, Production). Ensure proper version control and configuration management across environments. Deployment Execution Use tools like Gearset, Copado, Jenkins, Salesforce CLI for automated deployments. Monitor and troubleshoot deployment issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption. Version Control & CI/CD Manage version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, GitHub). Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments. Governance & Compliance Enforce release governance policies and ensure compliance with organizational change management protocols. Maintain documentation for release notes, deployment plans, rollback procedures, and logs. Change Management Oversee the deployment of configuration changes, customizations, and integrations. Ensure alignment with change management policies and procedures. Documentation & Communication Maintain release documentation and logs. Communicate release status, risks, and issues to stakeholders. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the release process. Stay current with Salesforce platform updates, DevOps trends, and best practices. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of experience in Salesforce administration, development, or release management. 3+ years of experience in a consulting environment. Technical Skills Proficiency with Salesforce metadata, change sets, and deployment tools. Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines. Hands‑on experience with Copado - Required, Gearset, Jenkins, Salesforce CLI, and VS Code. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Proficiency in Salesforce development tools (Apex, Visualforce). Certifications (Preferred) Salesforce Certified Administrator Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder Copado Certified Salesforce DevOps Center Certified Soft Skills Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Analytical mindset with a focus on problem‑solving and continuous improvement. Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
