**Overview**:
Scrum Master (SM) - in an agile delivery model with a strong delivery focus
• *Responsibilities**:Problem Solving with External Stakeholders**:
Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by external stakeholders.
Facilitate open communication between the team and external parties.
• *Highlighting Risks and Escalations**:
Proactively identify potential risks and impediments.
Escalate issues that cannot be resolved by the team to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
• *Planning & Conducting Sprint Events**:
Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.
Ensure the team understands and commits to the sprint goals.
• *Daily Tracking**:
Monitor daily progress and ensure the team is on track to meet their sprint commitments.
Address any blockers or impediments the team may face.
• *Scope & Out of Scope Management**:
Work with the product Owner to Protect the team from scope creep and ensure only prioritized items are worked on.
Ensure any out-of-scope items are documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
• *JIRA Boards Management**:
Oversee the maintenance and updating of JIRA boards to reflect accurate project status.
Ensure the team is utilizing JIRA effectively for task tracking and management.
• *Capacity Management**:
Monitor team capacity to ensure they are not overcommitted.
Plan for future sprints by considering team capacity and velocity.
• *Metrics Reports**:
Generate and review metrics reports to monitor sprint progress.
Use Metric reports as a tool to facilitate discussions during agile ceremonies (at any time)
• *Backlog Management**:
Collaborate with Product Owners to prioritize and refine the product backlog.
Ensure the backlog is clear, refined, and ready for future sprints.
• *Plan Alignment with External Stakeholders**:
Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure the team's work aligns with broader organizational goals and timelines.
Facilitate communication between the team and external parties.
• *Release Calendar & PPM Updates**:
Maintain and update the release calendar.
Coordinate with Portfolio Project Management (PPM) to ensure alignment with larger project portfolios.
• *Access-Related Requests & Support**:
Address any access-related issues or requests from the team.
Ensure the team has the necessary resources and permissions to perform their tasks.
• *Business Downtime Approvals**:
Coordinate with business units for any required downtime.
Ensure business is informed and approves of any planned downtimes.
