We're looking for a senior technical leader to spearhead the creation of a modern data platform for a high-performing hedge fund in Singapore. This is a foundational role - you’ll build it, define it, and eventually scale a team around it.
What You'll Do:
• Build a modern data lake platform from scratch using Databricks
• Define architecture, tooling, and best practices for data pipelines, ingestion, and governance
• Be hands-on in coding, setup, and implementation
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into scalable solutions
• Mentor and guide offshore resources, with a plan to build a local team around you in the future
• Act as the go-to technical expert and thought partner to leadership on all things data
What We're Looking For:
• Deep experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark
• Proven track record in building or architecting large-scale data platforms or data lakes
• Strong background in data engineering, pipelines, and big data processing
• Hands-on and technical - this is not a pure management role
• Prior experience in greenfield projects or startup-like environments is a big plus
• Exposure to cloud environments
• Experience in finance is helpful but not required
