The M365 platform is identified as one of the pillars of our client’s digital transformation. The main objectives of the project are to provide our client’s community with a secure, integrated, and supported collaboration platform, with institutional governance to ensure its evolution according to emerging needs.
This high-profile project will primarily involve the IT department, but all of our client’s sectors (academic and administrative) will be stakeholders in this project, requiring a significant mobilization of resources.
Our client is looking for an experienced solution architecture advisor with expertise in M365 technologies.
You will analyze strategic stakeholders’ needs, review current processes, business requirements, technology constraints, and system design to recommend process optimization and compliance with standards and best practices related to the use of the M365 suite and innovative technologies. You will be required to generate buy-in for best practice and technology solutions, lead the questioning process, and act as a steward of the technology and infrastructure perimeter, while consistently integrating input from business, infrastructure, security and operational needs, and respecting the approval processes in place.
- Understand our client’s current systems and their interaction and impact with the new M365 environment;
- Develop strategies for the current tenant hosted in the United States;
- Adapt the creation of course groups through automated processes to the M365 ecosystem;
- Develop a strategy on how best to synchronize user accounts from existing source systems to M365;
- Articulate a strategy for federating identity management (students and employees);
- Segment and classify data according to academic, administrative and research contexts;
- Develop a strategy and implement collaboration tools;
- Configure and implement new practices and policies for our information assets;
- Automate highly cyclical and regular educational activities;
- Establish a balanced roadmap between business values, opportunities and compliance;
- Demonstrate strong alignment with the modern desktop management and mobility initiative.
• *Anticipated deliverables (but not limited to)**
- Draft the reference (target) architecture and the transition architecture (M365 configuration details):
- Synthesize the collection of business requirements (use cases);
- Identify the principles required for the M365 project;
- Identify integration patterns;
- Identify options/opportunities;
- Draft the transition architecture (current, target);
- Identify appropriate solutions related to identified measures and risks (security, delivery, business, etc.);
- Document and map the solutions, infrastructure and functional processes.
- Produce the roadmap (sequencing), including cost and effort estimates;
- In collaboration with the project manager and stakeholders, clarify the activities requiring automation and practice transformation and evaluate their costs;
- Identify risks to our client (demonstration with proofs of concept if required).
• *Important note**:
The maturity of our client in terms of architecture practices and concepts is low. The Solutions Architecture Advisor will therefore be called upon to contribute to the implementation of the architecture practices and to coach the resources so that they can fully contribute to the project in an efficient manner.

- Experience as a senior M365 architecture consultant on a minimum of three (3) projects of similar scope and scale within the last five (5) years (involvement in projects in an academic environment is a strong asset);
- Excellent skills in planning, cloud systems architecture, systems interoperability, infrastructure and security;
- Knowledge of:
- system integration models and concepts;
- enterprise integration and security patterns;
- modern federated identity management, both Microsoft and non-Microsoft;
- Azure and other cloud platforms, hybrid integration (cloud and on premises) and migration of local workloads to cloud;
- the Microsoft billing/licensing model and education.
- Expertise with security capabilities: PAM, Modern IAM;
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps delivery methods;
- Good experience in preparing public tenders;
