As a highly experienced PostgreSQL DBA, you will be responsible for managing the PostgreSQL database system with expertise. This role involves creating database objects such as triggers and indexes, monitoring performance to ensure optimum results, identifying potential issues, and maintaining backups and disaster recovery processes.
You will provide guidance and address technical challenges while defining strategy for migration approaches. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring performance, availability, security, and integrity of databases, providing support to application teams and stakeholders. Additionally, you will maintain database schema, manage availability, give best practice guidance to development teams, and resolve production data issues.
This role requires proven migration experience, particularly from Oracle to Postgres. You must monitor security, prevent unauthorized access, schedule consistent maintenance, and develop automation technologies to accelerate data loading processes. As an enterprise-level DBA, you will define and coach teams within the organization, train application teams, and act as a consultant DBA.
