• *Role Description**:
Our client has embarked on a multi-year journey to transform its academic and administrative support processes and system environments for the entire organization community. In November 2020, the organization successfully went live with its new HR and Finance implementation of Workday. The Integrated Renewal Program (IRP) is now focused on the journey to renew the Student information ecosystem, anchored by the implementation of Workday Student.
The Integrated Renewal Program—Student (IRP Student) vision is to transform the way the organization supports learning and research, and how it works, to create a cohesive, integrated, and enriched experience for students, staff, and faculty. This implementation will result in superior support for students, a better user experience, a new set of tools, a new way of working, and improved reporting for informed decision-making. IRP Student will leverage the industry-leading cloud enterprise solution Workday to replace our current core Student administration systems with a new integrated, user friendly, mobile-enabled platform.
The Test Automation Lead will define automation test strategy, design automation framework, plan and track automation testing activities to support all domains relating to Workday functional, Ecosystems, and/or Integration. As a member of the Testing Shared Services team in IRP Student, the incumbent will provide the technical expertise to improve on testing efficiency and effectiveness using test automation. The Test Automation Lead will report to the Senior QA Manager, while working closely with QA Managers, Project Managers, and Delivery Team.
• *Responsibilities**:
- Defines and implements automation to support data validation for conversion and reports
- Defines and implements automation test strategy to support multiple domains including Workday functional, Ecosystems, and/or Integration
- Identify opportunities and promotes test automation to improve on effectiveness and efficiency of testing
- Provides expertise in automation ROI, tools selection and assessment
- Leads the design and implementation of robust test automation framework to support reusability, maintainability, and automation best practices for both front-end and back-end
- Provides thought leadership with regards to setting up an effective and centralized test automation Practice.
- Develops and provides acquired knowledge and skills training the acquired knowledge with teams; developing and maintaining documentation library.
- Documents automation test strategy and cross-learnings regularly
- Oversees regular peer review for automation scripts and create summary reports, collating findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Leads the day to day delivery of test automation activities, tracks progress, and prepares test reports
- Develops and implements automation procedures, methods, standards and control to support effective testing, monitor compliance, mitigate testing risks, and achieve team results
- Collaborates with QA Managers and QA Leads to understand and plan automation projects
- Designs and implements automation of test data staging and data validation (between legacy and new systems)
- Designs and implements automated API testing via Postman or SOAPUI
- Acts as primary escalation point to test automation issues
• *Requirements**:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a test automation leadership role (i.e. QA Lead)
- Minimum of 5 years of QA experience in multiple QA roles, including technical and functional tester
- Minimum of 10 years cumulative software test automation experience (i.e. automation ROI, tool selection, automation strategy, automation framework, script maintenance, execution, reporting, and defect management)
- Deep technical hands-on experience on dealing with APIs and related tools (REST, SOAP, Postman), as well as QA automation tools (Selenium, SOAPUI, Cucumber)
- Excellent knowledge of thick-client app automation
- Well-versed with BDD approach
- Expertise in Selenium WebDriver and QTP
- Deep technical hands-on experience on thick client and web automation
- Deep technical hands-on experience in the implementation of automated data validation between legacy system and post-conversion in new system
- Experience in leading multiple automation projects each with unique needs while conforming to automation best practice
- Experience in integration with MuleSoft or other integration platforms
- Deep knowledge of test management tools, defects management tools, and testing progress reporting
- Experience with large program implementation supporting multiple testing functions (data management, environment management, defect tracking and reporting)
