Our client is seeking a highly motivated Network Coordination Officer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is essential in managing and coordinating streetworks in compliance with relevant legislation and ensuring minimal disruption to the road network.
Key Responsibilities:
• Delivering duties under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA)
• Evaluating and managing the coordination, inspection, and enforcement of highway activities
• Assessing permit applications for accuracy and compliance with the London Permit Scheme
• Issuing fixed penalty notices, defects, and other NRSWA related requirements
• Monitoring permit applications and major projects to identify work clashes and collaboration opportunities
• Managing external inspections throughout the borough and coordinating on-street activities for safety and compliance
• Producing and maintaining comprehensive records and reports of all street works activities
• Liaising with utility companies, emergency services, and other stakeholders to coordinate highway activities and address emergencies
Job Requirements:
• Experience in a street works related environment with a solid understanding of relevant legislation
• Proven expertise in traffic management and permit application assessments
• Confident use of relevant IT systems and software for monitoring and coordination
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in resolving issues with utility companies and contractors
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage and prioritise an extensive workload with conflicting demands
• Valid UK driving licence and use of own vehicle for work purposes

Training and Education:
• Streetworks Supervisory qualifications are required
