What you'll bring
• 12 to 15 years of experience in developing platforms in the Data engineering space
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing product development teams.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop Eco Systems HDFS, Map Reduce, HIVE, PIG, Oozie, YARN, EMR, S3, Spark, Cassandra, HBASE, Kafka, Sqoop, Zookeeper
• Expertise with any of the following Object-Oriented Languages (OOD): Java, Python, or sometimes C+
• Experience on Public Cloud (AWS) is preferable
• Adept at articulating the product vision and drive the future roadmap with strong business acumen
• Strong leadership experience: Leading meetings, presenting, technical go to person, and cross-functional leader
• Ability to manage small (6-8 member) high caliber development and QA engineers.
• Strong decision maker and driver.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and methods; with multiple levels of internal stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across teams, functional groups and divisions.
• Expertise with the Agile development methodologies
• Expertise in the Software design/architecture process
• Expertise with unit testing & Test-Driven Development (TDD)

• This opportunity is one of our most key positions in India. The Development Manager collaborates closely with key leaders to develop strategic projects, plans and processes, streamline decision-making, and develop and manage an engineering team. The Development Manager leverages technical expertise and industry trends in the Big data space to influence development processes and product quality.
• The Development Manager will be comfortable working with the business to understand their needs. They will also possess strong technical skills, have a career history of strong hands-on software engineering and development experience in the Big Data space, and the tactical and visionary leadership skills to motivate, guide, and earn the respect from a highly talented engineering team.
• The Development Manager will act as a technical leader in internal teams including managing code reviews, post project analysis and clearly articulating throughout the duration of projects what is important to the project's success and focuses on the critical few and priorities to improve. They will provide leadership for planning, recruiting and managing part of a world class technology, product development team
• The Development Manager will have experience with software development lifecycle methodologies and frameworks such as TSP/PSP, Agile, Scrum, Test Driven Development, etc. The Development Manager effectively implements SDLC, modifying it as necessary, utilizing best practices across the company and/or industry.
• The Development Manager develops and applies highly effective team operating mechanisms to achieve the business objectives. The person is expected to continuously assess, and if necessary, redesign processes to ensure that they are repeatable, sustainable and scalable. The person drives results through proactively collaborating across organizational boundaries and ensures end-to-end execution that most effectively delivers for the right stakeholders.
