Senior Backend Python Developer - world class healthcare tech, London Django, AWS, SQL, Python unit testing, TDD, CI/CD London hybrid - a day a week in the office c£75-85k negotiable We’re seeking a topflight Senior Backend Developer with a strong software engineering background including 8-9+ years majoring in writing Backend applications using Python and Django (Rest Framework). This is a seriously weighty, complex, technically challenging role; the successful applicant will be 'red hot' on the core backend skill requirements. DevOps expertise is strongly advantageous. The Senior Backend Developer will be joining a top-flight team of 45 at a world-class healthcare tech leader, playing a pivotal role in scaling a native mobile app by 10x over the next 12 months, and taking the app to the next level. A flavour of your remit: • Work on new product features contributing to architecture and implementation • Refactor existing code and services to support scalability and growth of complexity. • Proactively respond to analytics to ensure our products are robust and meet users’ needs • Take technical ownership of areas of product Requirements: • 8-9+ years of experience writing Backend applications using Python and Django (Rest Framework)or related frameworks, e.g. Flask, FastAPI or similar • Good understanding of ORM (either Django or SQLAlchemy) • Good understanding of Python Unit Testing frameworks and TDD practices • Strong background in DevOps • Experience working with Cloud Infrastructure (ideally AWS) • Good understanding of Git, and CI/CD Nice-to-haves: • Deeper understanding of SQL • Knowledge of front-end technologies such as Vue or React • Experience with handling sensitive data (e.g. PII) We are looking for problem-solvers who are committed and analytical, keen to learn while always being delivery minded, self-starters for whom everything is possible, but the best solution is always the most appropriate one.
