Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Assurance and Compliance Lead to oversee their Quality Assurance and Compliance department, specifically focusing on private label products. This role will ensure that all private label products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will manage import permit applications and maintenance, handle customer complaints related to faulty products by conducting investigations with manufacturers and liaising with customers to determine compensation eligibility.
What you'll do:
• Maintain quality management systems (QMS) for private label products
• Monitor and enforce quality standards across all private label products
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for potential safety issues
• Ensure proper labelling and packaging of products to comply with regulatory standards
• Oversee the testing and evaluation of existing products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards
• Coordinate with third-party laboratories for product testing and analysis
• Ensure all products comply with relevant local, national, and international regulations and standards
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for regulatory compliance purposes
• Identify areas for improvement within QA and Compliance processes and implement effective solutions
• Prepare and present detailed reports on quality and compliance metrics to senior management
What you bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in food science, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in QA and compliance roles, preferably within the retail or pet industry
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to pet food products or human food products
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance
