Applied Materials’ Common Systems Software Department is searching for an Intern to join our Core Software team in summer 2024! Our team develops the software for the data management and processing nodes for the control system of semiconductor process equipment. This includes the design of databases, data management, data analysis, security and remote access systems as well as the user interface and client applications. The position will entail the following: • Designs and develops code for control system software projects • Designs and creates prototype software to interface with new devices, actuators and sensors • Assists in troubleshooting a variety of moderately difficult software problems • Creates and executes test plans on simulators, test benches or the lab • Develops software documentation • Interacts and works closely with the team Requirements • Student must be pursuing a Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field • Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale • Good written and oral communication skills • Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills • Is result oriented and has passion to contribute ideas, to influence others and to succeed Applied Materials is committed to diversity in its workforce including Equal Employment Opportunity for Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities. $35 - $41 per hour The rate offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and education level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
