One of our clients in Los Angeles, California is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with the following skills and experience
Looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in building the next generation of APIs for backend services that drive subscriptions, promotions, partnerships, invoicing, entitlements, payments, and accounting. In this role, you'll define test strategies, create test automation, investigate and report issues, and collaborate across engineering teams to ensure the release of high-quality software.
Must-Haves:
• Backend API Testing proficiency, using Java/Karate framework/Selenium Automation test.
• Strong testing background.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field with 7+ years of experience in software testing (SDET) and/or software development (SDE).
• Proficiency in object-oriented design and expertise in Java, Python, C#, Kotlin, Scala, or similar languages.
• Knowledge of backend test automation frameworks (e.g., REST Assured, Karate, pytest).
• Hands-on experience with version control (GitHub), issue/project tracking (Jira), and debugging tools (Postman, curl, Chrome dev tools).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, and continuous integration/delivery systems.
• Experience with SQL queries, stored procedures, and data analysis/validation.
• Experience with Jenkins or similar build tools and test suite/case/run management tools.
• Understanding of quality-related agile methodologies and tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Knowledge of Kafka, Amazon SQS, and Kinesis.
• Experience writing Gherkin Syntax for automated test scenarios.
• Experience developing advanced mocking mechanisms.
