As a senior leader, you will play a critical role in defining the strategy, road map and principles to drive growth and impact. You will lead teams to explore new technologies, develop innovative solutions and drive strategic partnerships as well as collaborations. This role offers the opportunity to shape and implement the future direction driving transformational growth through the strategic development and application of metrology for AI and Data Science.
Inspirational leadership will be required to harness and focus teams whilst strategically preparing for future challenges through succession planning and capability building.
What you will be doing in the role:
• Providing inspirational leadership to ensure NPL’s mission, strategy and plans are articulated and understood inside and outside the organisation, that employees and partners are excited by, engaged with and focussed on its successful delivery to maximise impact and growth.
• Lead the development of the strategy relating to the strategic growth area and through leading the AI and Data Science teams, translate this into prioritised measurement challenges supporting government priorities.
• Drive innovation by exploring and leveraging emerging technologies to create new products, services, and impact. Identify and evaluate new opportunities, business models and growth strategies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritise and allocate resource to strategic growth initiatives ensuring alignment with objectives and strategic priorities.
• Lead the development of business cases, models, and strategic plans to support investment decisions and drive growth.
• Build and nurture strategic partnerships and collaborations with external stakeholders, technology partners, industry, and academic institutions.
• Monitor market trends and developments to identify opportunities and adjust the strategic roadmap accordingly.
• Drive cross functional execution of strategic initiatives ensuring alignment, accountability, and timely delivery of results.
• Communicate progress, key milestones and strategic insights to senior leadership and other stakeholders to drive engagement.
• Ensure compliance with appropriate internal and external governance including quality, health, safety, security and environmental legislation minimising risk to the business and enhancing NPL’s reputation.
• Work with senior leadership colleagues to be one NPL. Ensure everyone across the organisation is working effectively together.
• Prioritise business drivers and interdependencies with relevant Exec members
