Job Description
The Cisco Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring that our computer network is always up and functional. The CNE designs, installs, maintains, and oversees the equipment required for providing LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and VoIP networks economically. This includes monitoring, troubleshooting, and proactively fine-tuning network components to avoid unplanned outages.
Responsibilities
• Establishes and maintains network performance. Maximizes performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades. Troubleshoots network problems. Collaborates with network architects on network optimization Collaborates with network architects on network optimization.
• Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration and directing system installation. Audits IP Addresses.
• Secures network system by .establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access. Defines, documents, and enforces system standards
• Builds net configurations and connections. Configures router. Updates data servers and network equipment.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations. Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• CCIE or CCE certification.
• At least 5 years' experience as a network engineer.
• Detailed knowledge of Cisco networking systems.
• Experience with storage engineering, wide-area networking, and network virtualization.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to identify, deploy, and manage complex networking systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with end-user training.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, networking administration, information technology, or a similar field.
