Job Description
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team. This person will be working with disparate teams to understand our data and to potentially transform raw data from these sources into useful structures for our user teams (analytics, CRM, etc.) to be able to use and draw upon.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and understand data from disparate sources – these include databases, raw files, other structured data
• Work with Architects to design logical and physical models to house this data
• Create migration scripts that will allow this data to move from these source systems to these new structures
• Develop any code (stored procedures, triggers, views, etc) that are needed to make the process as efficient as possible
• Improve system performance by evaluating current processes to find inefficiencies
• Work with business partners to define needs and objectives
• Collaborate across multiple systems and groups
• Assist in creating test plans, scenarios and test cases to aid the QA team in determining needs.
Qualifications:
• Proven work experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, Data Analyst or similar role
• In-depth understanding of database structure principles and knowledge of database design
• Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
• Proven skills in understanding data and analyzing
• Expertise in SQL (multiple systems)
• Knowledge of ETL
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Problem solving attitude
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
