Job Description Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Summer 2024 placement with a start date of May 2024 and end-date of August 2024. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either: • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2024; or • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April/August 2024), but you require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully. Please ensure that you meet these eligibility requirements before applying - candidates who apply but are found to be ineligible are not able to be considered. What is the opportunity? RBC is hiring for an exciting Data and Reporting Analyst 4 month student role. In this role you will report to the Senior Manager and assist/participate in reporting development and data validation to support various teams within the bank for their data/reporting needs. What will you do? • Assist and participate in data validation and cleaning to ensure the quality and integrity of data. • Analyze and extract key data and information to meet the organization's information system needs and requirements. • Assist in developing reporting solutions, through effective information gathering with client, strategy consultants, IT, or Retail Banking developer team • Data mine using all RBC data sources as part of solutions design process • Improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of existing Performance Reporting solutions to deliver a better product and increase workload capacity. • Assist in redesign thinking– Think outside the box to how it is best to effectively communicate results while balancing consistency standards across all portals. • Assist in resolving conflicts/issues of all complexities and escalate to developers and manager as appropriate • Streamline existing production process through enhanced technical capabilities and automation where possible What do you need to succeed? Must-have: • Working towards a degree in Computer Science and/or similar technical program • Completing your 3rd or 4th year of studies • Past experience with relational databases and tools (i.e. SQL and SAS) • Excellent MS Office Skill – Excel • Python programming and experience • Strong business acumen and analytical, communication and presentation skills • Exceptional problem solving skills and ability to conceptualize strategy • Attention to detail, organization, ability to multi task and time management is critical Nice-to-have: • Relevant experience in financial reporting • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau • Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge • Experience in financial services industry with broad understanding of banking products and services What’s in it for you?
