Our large energy client is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to plan and complete an installation and migration to 21.0 and some a small SQL upgrade for a 80 hour / 2 month part-time remote contract.
SCOPE:
• Move 4 Oracle v 12.2 instances to a single Windows 2022 server (install oracle 21.0) and reconnect the application that connects to all 4 databases. Should be simple to point the application to the new server and databases (ODBC connection). Then help with decommissioning of the older systems. Work is related to an OT (operational technology) network with layered accounts for RTJ (Real time journal - Honeywell PHD historian module).
• If your skills allow, complete a SQL 2012 to SQL 2019 upgrade, including a Windows Operating system upgrade
• There will be someone technical you will have access to for questions, but you will be doing the bulk of the work as to save this resource’s time.
Must Have:
• 8+ year Oracle DBA experience up to version 21.0
• Experience with ODBC connectors
• At least one recent exposure to SQL related work
Nice-to-have:
• Experience completing a Windows Operating system upgrades
• Project management experience - Experience planning and executing own work / Project Management
• Experience reconnecting an application and testing it
• Experience with an OT (operational technology) networks with layered accounts
• Exposure to RTJ/EEC (Real time journal - Honeywell PHD historian module).
NOTE: This is a flexible scope of work able to be completed in part-time hours at any time of day. Occasional MST business hour meetings will be required. You are required to use your own computer, but a VDI will be provided to you.
