• * Position Summary The Jr. Oracle DBA is responsible for architecture, build and maintain existing databases hosted in On-Prem as well as cloud platforms and work towards the transformation journey by providing design/build support for the existing environment. • * Essential Functions - Architect, deploy and support Oracle Databases and offer technical support in all areas associated with the databases. - Subject Matter Expert to Design and support Oracle RMAN or any other storage replication technologies. - Provide capacity planning, deploy, and support failover technologies like Golden Gate, RAC, Oracle Active Data Guard - Assess and recommend Oracle database related products within the architecture framework. - Work in an Agile methodology environment learning and developing technology leadership and innovation, while collaborating with other Agile team members. - Responsible for executing Scrum team sprint commitments while improving quality and speed in delivery. - Ability to adapt to and assist colleagues to work through change and support change management processes - Strong team orientation and ability to collaborate with the business and IT organizations - Ability to retain and convey a positive attitude in challenging circumstances. - Act courageously by sharing viewpoints openly and directly with others, providing relevant and timely information and feedback, as required. - Remain open to ideas; integrates multiple perspectives in decision-making. - Maintain a positive demeanor during periods of uncertainty, conflict, and stress. - Ability to work on issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of relevant factors. - Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. - Implement and execute processes across business/function to achieve assigned goals. - Seek out and embrace relevant perspectives when assessing a situation or making a decision; demonstrate clear understanding of multiple viewpoints. - Leverage business insights in proposing solutions and facilitating change. - Scope of work Receive assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet the goals - Strong analytical skills: ability to distill information from disparate data sources and the capability to tell the "story" behind it, as well as recommendations for next steps - Adapt appropriately to competing demands and shifting priorities. • * Basic Qualifications* • - Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software engineering, management information systems, or related field or related experience - Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening Preferred Qualifications - Typically requires at least 8 years of hands-on Oracle Database design/build/operate experience. - A solid understanding of various Unix operating systems like RHEL 6-8x, SUSE, Sun Solaris etc., - Familiar with Oracle RDBMS 8i - 19c, exposure to Puppet and/or Terraform - Shell scripting (CSH, KSH, BSH); - Comfortable with common DBA administration tasks/tools involving (RMAN using Legato Networker, Datapump, ASM, Grid Infrastructure) - Solid understanding of latest oracle database features and the ability to put on them to offer a quantifiable value to the end users. - Proven experience in deploying, maintaining failover technologies like Golden Gate, RAC, Oracle Active Data Guard - Ensuring compliance with Oracle license agreement. - Monitoring performance, optimization of the databases hosted on-prem, cloud. - Experience in migrating the database from on-prem to cloud. - Knowledge of Terraform and automation technologies including deployment, support and automation techniques. - Ability to work with global teams in various time zones as needed and strong analytical skills to solve problems. - Ability to provide time to maintain an support the environments 24x7x365 as needed. - Typically requires at least 8 years of Oracle Database Administrator experience. - CentOS, and Unix experience. - Have social maturity and demonstrated success in the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization including executives, business stakeholders and technical teams. - Proven ability for balancing competing requirements & interests, developing win-win solutions, staying focused on top of priorities, and finding ways to get the job done. - Professional Certifications in Oracle Database area is a plus. - Ability to partner with multiple stakeholders and influence project decisions
