As the Director, Software Engineering you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of digital solutions that support our colleagues and clients across Canada. As a Director, Software Engineering your responsibilities will include: • Build strong working relationships with business and IT management to understand business strategy and requirements, and to identify and develop appropriate solutions that enable GT to achieve its business objectives • Own the development and integration of all systems initiatives at the firm • Attract, recruit, and develop software engineering talent • Ensure we have the right engineering staff on the right projects at the right time • Be an active member of the IT management team reporting to the CIO, supporting the team in addressing both strategic and tactical priorities • Demonstrated ability to select, configure and integrate off the shelf SaaS systems • Establish industry best practice processes and infrastructure for the Software Engineering team, maturing our DevOps and Agile culture • Be hands-on, able to review software design and architecture • Work closely with the Project Management and Enterprise Architecture teams to build project plans and well architected solutions • Provide individual coaching and create a learning environment where colleagues can develop their careers, and the technical expertise needed for future business needs • Ensure our security standards are being followed throughout the software development process Be Grant Thornton If you’re a bit like us, you’re driven to connect with how others are feeling and thinking.
