What success looks like in this role:
SUMMARY:
Experienced SQL Database and Application Support Engineer to join our IT Operations team based in Rhodes. Responsible for managing incidents, requests and problems, ensuring that the data including ETL and associated processes, database and application platforms are operational.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILIES:
• Proactively monitor the SQL and Application environment, respond to incidents (JIRA) & requests promptly and resolve within SLA.
• Perform RCA of incidents and work towards permanent resolution.
• Manage the database and application platforms, ensure robust proactive monitoring and alerting is in place.
• Proactively contribute to innovation and automation thereby improving the business value and quality of the IT platform overall.
• Ensure regular s ystem, database and application upgrades to maintain compliance and security obligations.
• Ensuring best practices are followed and maintained for the SQL Database platforms.
• Ensure technical documentation is updated and maintained to a high standard for all databases and applications in confluence.
• Perform and enhance Disaster Recovery testing and validation procedures.
• Develop and maintain r elations with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Completion of allocated project work within agreed timeframes.
• Review and enhance regular automation processes and procedures.
• Development of high-quality database solutions that are secure, efficient and resilient.
• Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions.
• Analyze existing queries and identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Perform application deployment releases into UAT and Production environments.

You will be successful in this role if you have:
• Must be a proven, certified SME with extensive experience in hands-on Microsoft SQL Operational Management and Development for at least 10+ years.
• Strong t echnical and troubleshooting skills in SQL - Microsoft SQL 2008 to Sql 2022, SSRS – reporting service, SSIS – Integration services, Stored procedure development o OLAP / Cubes
• Monitoring and improving SQL Query performance optimization.
• Developing SQL scripts, programs, databases
• Experience with developing complex PowerShell scripts.
• Microsoft Reporting tools e.g, Tableau, Power BI
• Experience with application development and support preferably .NET or Java, solid understanding of SDLC and associated tooling and processes.
• Good knowledge of HTML and JavaScript
• Good understanding and working experience with Active Directory/Jira/ Confluence in agile project delivery.
• Keen to learn and committed to expand skills in a variety of SQL databases such as Progress beyond Microsoft SQL.
