Our client is one of the fastest growing financial firms globally. Due to business needs, an experienced data engineer with a background in Python is needed to join their team.
Position Overview:
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the data infrastructure and pipelines that enable efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval. You will collaborate with backend engineers, frontend engineers and other Departments to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of data systems. Your role is crucial in ensuring the integrity, quality, and security of data assets, as well as optimizing data workflows to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Create and update database for the private equity business with Python.
· Development, testing and providing support of our software for private equity investment management.
· Collaborate with users and other teams to improve our technology and systems.
Qualification and Skills:
· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, relevant undergraduate/ post-graduate degree and qualifications a plus.
· Has strong interest in financial data.
· Able to think of ways to solve new and complex problems.
· Strong knowledge and skill in Python or other OOP programing languages.
· Has responsibility for quality of the data.
· Self-motivated and has strong ambitions to build an IT system to change the world.
· Is interested in IT innovation and familiar with the latest technologies.
· Good team player.
· English communication skills.
Other Attributes:
· Experience working in the financial industry is plus.
· Familiar with OOP programing language such as C#/Java/C++ is plus.
· Has experience designing and developing IT systems from scratch.
· Self-starter, self-motivated person to lead the development.
· Ownership or experience working on open source projects on platforms such as GitHub, etc
