Our client is a real estate specialist, whose client base includes the world’s leading pension funds and investment managers.
Working in partnership with their European business, they are looking to appoint a Data Specialist who can be based in Singapore or Hong Kong, to support the use, development and integration of their data imports and data quality within their data warehouse. Their platform allows its users to gain access to bespoke insights and analytics for real estate portfolios and overall industry performance and we are looking for someone who can improve the efficiencies for their business. Initially this is very much an execution role and you will work with the team in Europe to lay out the timeline highlighting potential issues and address each one in order to deliver on the business goal for Asia.
In order to thrive in this role, as well as having strong technical skills, working with your European partners will require strong interpersonal skills and candidates who would describe themselves as assertive and not afraid to express themselves either technically or personally will be most comfortable in this very collaborative environment. Your business colleagues will be straight talking and will expect the same from you and would expect you to point out issues to the wider team to ensure everyone is kept up to date with progress or be ready to make suggestions.
• You will support business functions in adopting new software tools, translating technical findings to a non-technical team
• Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
• Continuously learn about new practices in real estate data analysis to support the business leaders in Asia and Europe
• Be the go to Power BI expert for the organisation in the region
Requirements
• Analytically minded, high level of precision and meticulous attention to detail
• High levels of pragmatism, able to highlight what you know or do not know to bridge the knowledge gap where identified
• Someone who can bring lots of ideas to the table on how to solve identified problems and take the lead on given tasks
• Bachelor’s Degree in; Economics, Business Intelligence or Information Science
• 3-5 years of demonstrable experience with complex data issues and/or BI consulting; software development;
• Python and SQL and general data science techniques;
• ETL reporting/analytic tools, environments, and data structures;
• Power BI DAX hands on experience
• Solid technical background and curiosity about the industry, technology, and data driven products is essential
• Excellent communication skills, both in written and oral English
• Experience with Cloud computing and Amazon Web Services (AWS);
• Demonstrable experience in modelling data and data flow;
• Experience in the finance industry or real estate investments is a bonus
