DesignBridge is an award winning Chicago based architectural design firm that founded in 1985. We are seeking a licensed architect, (or candidate on track for licensure) to join our team to lead and manage current and future projects. This is an opportunity to play a vital role in a growing practice involved in the development of impactful public and private projects of different types and size throughout the City of Chicago and surrounding diverse communities.
The ideal candidate should be interested in contributing to all aspects of the design process from conceptual design, sustainability and building performance, to the construction phase. Candidates should have a experience in working from a concept design down to the development of the critical details that become distinguishing features in a project. The firms work ranges from Mixed-Use, Multifamily, education, retail, office, and Adaptive Reuse Developments.
Candidates should have between about 5-20 years of experience (salary commensurate with experience).
The ideal candidate should have specific experience in design, engineering coordination, construction documentation, permitting and construction administration. Candidates should possess expert knowledge of construction materials and standards, as well as advanced knowledge of building codes and zoning ordinances. Experience in multi-family projects is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
• Bachelor of Architecture degree or Master’s degree in Architecture
• Registered architect, or actively pursuing professional architectural licensure
· Experience working on fast paced projects
• Capable of working in a fast paced and collaborative environment
• Ability to take initiative and be pro-active
· Ability to work independently and with others
• Willingness to be flexible and manage multiple responsibilities
· Able to communicate with clients and keep open dialog with consultants
