We are searching for an experienced SQL Database Administrator I .

Essential Function
Administer database server software and data content.Architect, implement, and maintain relational, object relational, and other databases that serve the Credit Union’s business functions (not to include the Credit Union’s Online Transaction Processor).Work with in-house software engineers and business analysts to implement data management solutions.Assist employees with data reporting and maintenance needs.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties
• Assisting in the installation and configuration of database management systems (DBMS) software.
• Assisting in designing and implementing database structures and schemas.
• Assisting in ensuring data security and integrity by implementing appropriate access controls and backup strategies.
• Monitoring and optimizing database performance under the guidance of senior DBAs.
• Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving database issues and errors.
• Assisting in planning and executing database upgrades and migrations under the guidance of senior DBAs.
• Collaborating with developers to optimize database design and performance.
• Assisting in creating and maintaining documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Assisting in implementing database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and database consistency checks.
• Assisting in monitoring database capacity under the guidance of senior DBAs.
• Providing support and guidance to application developers on database-related issues under the guidance of senior DBAs.
• Learning and staying up to date with the latest database technologies and trends.
• Assisting in conducting performance analysis and capacity planning for future database growth under the guidance of senior DBAs.
• Assisting in ensuring compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.

Accountability under the guidance & direction of Engineering
• Responsible for keeping database software up to date for all corporate-wide database servers.
• Responsible for installing and maintaining database server software and data.
• Responsible for leading development of corporate database structure with assistance.
• Responsible for aiding employees with data reporting and maintenance needs.
• Responsible for participating in testing database systems.
• Accountable for Performance Management Goals as agreed upon with Supervisor.
• Accountable for understanding and applying government laws and regulations and ECU policies and procedures relating to the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC.
Minimum Requirement
• Four-year college degree in computer sciences or equivalent experience.
• A fundamental knowledge of relational databases is required; knowledge of object-relational databases is a plus.
