Why this role matters
The Senior Data Scientist will coordinate data management and curation and perform statistical analysis for specific research projects using large-scale linked health data and Electronic Medical Record Data.
This person will work as a data analyst using existing Python algorithms to predict patient outcomes, and to evaluate the impacts of health interventions.
The role will also contribute to maintaining ethical approvals and writing reports and will provide general project management support.
Who you are :
• Postgraduate qualifications in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, machine learning or related areas and relevant experience.
• Proven high level research and data analysis skills in a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in programming in Python.
• Highly developed data management skills and project management skills.
• Extensive experience in preparing project protocols, ethics applications and statistical analysis plans.
• Evidence of higher developed interpersonal and communication skills and a proven capacity to build relationships with key stakeholders and collaborators.
• Substantial relevant experience and leadership in the conduct of research with large-scale health data.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and leading peer-reviewed publications in journals and conferences.
• Demonstrated track record of developing statistical methodology or statistical software applications.
• Demonstrated ability to provide independent scientific and statistical direction, as well as demonstrated experience of effective statistical mentoring of junior staff and students.
