The Risk Officer is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, financial, and reputational risks associated with the custody and management of digital assets. This includes implementing risk management policies and procedures, monitoring risk exposures, and providing guidance to senior management on risk-related matters.
• *Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures, in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Draft and maintain the risk management policies and procedures, including the Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
- Perform risk monitoring and identification reviews in line with the direction of the Board.
- Identify and assess operational, financial, and reputational risks associated with the custody and management of digital assets.
- Monitor risk exposures and provide guidance to senior management on risk-related matters.
- Develop risk reports and risk assessments for senior management, board members, and regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as compliance, operations, and legal, to ensure that risk management practices are integrated across the organization.
- Lead the preparation of the annual Internal Risk Assessment Process.
- Assist with ad hoc risk management projects, as directed by the Board, monitoring tasks and overall delivery.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and trends, and identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry peers and regulatory bodies to ensure that risk management practices are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and support to staff on risk management practices and procedures.
• *Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in risk management, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
- Experience with custody and security procedures for digital assets.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and other departments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and risk management software.
