Job Summary
As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you'll work within the engineering department for group assessment to be responsible for the overall usability and quality of the experience of our web applications.
Responsibilities you'll have include:
Design and implement the user experience for the web applications consistent with the product strategy, while improving the workflows and reducing cognitive flows for users.
Be a vocal advocate of building accessibility, localization, and internationalization into the design process.
Build a library of reusable components and standards that are usable across multiple engineers, teams, and departments.
Coach and mentor UI engineers across the department to achieve these strategies. Utilize feedback early in the design process, as well as during code review to ensure design goals are achieved.
Foster a product-minded engineer culture, ensuring that design and functionality are improved with the incorporation of design elements in the conversation.
Skills and competencies required:
Strong sense of design, cognitive load, and user mental models, and integration of features and enhancements that are targeted at ensuring users need less documentation and generate fewer support calls.
Mastery of web app user interfaces with Figma using HTML+CSS.
Expertise with building core reusable components with React and Storybook.
Advanced experience with accessibility, including working with auditors and achieving compliance on Section 508 and/or WCAG.
Experience with localization and/or internationalization.
Strong communication skills, and able to clearly and concisely manage expectations and provide direct feedback as needed.
