Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract Position)

Must be eligible to work in Canada
Hybrid position, 3days/week onsite in Mississauga ON
Roles and responsibilities:
Working closely with other senior team members, product owners, user community, and stakeholders to identify, develop, operationalize, and support one of the DevOps platforms. The chosen candidate will need to have strong experience in DevOps, CI/CD, SDLC tools, and able to install and troubleshoot issues with little to no support.
Must have skills:
5+ years expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCE, OpenStack, VMWare, etc.) and Linux/Windows operating systems
5+ years experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
5+ years GIT experience or similar source control tools
5+ years experience with Agile Software Development processes.
5+ years experience with logging and monitoring tools such as ELK, Splunk Zabbix and Prometheus
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience with relevant working experience
Supporting and managing Linux operating system plus system administration and troubleshooting skills with a focus on performance tuning, security hardening and high availability
Strong knowledge of DevOps technologies and tools such as cloud service providers, linux servers, Artifactory, networking knowledge, automation principles, containerization, and Docker/K8S operation
Strong knowledge of infrastructure design, provisioning, and management
Strong understanding of load balancing and TLS
Strong scripting skills in Bash and at least one high level language such as Python or Ruby
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business and executive staff
Highly innovative, flexible and self-directed.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
