As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.
The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to develop vision-based machine learning and artificial intelligence methods on risk assessment for transportation purposes. This is a multi-organizational project and will have the opportunity to develop innovations and concepts into real-world demonstrator.

Responsibilities **:
- Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
- Undertake these responsibilities in the project:
- Research and Development in the area of vision-based deep learning and artificial intelligence.
- Research on new areas of vision-based deep learning with comparisons
- Lead and consolidate training data with stakeholders
- Test concepts and proposal potential new algorithms
- Assist and guide team members or students involved in this project.
- Communicate and Interface with industry partners on the select project.
- Write technical report and scientific publications.
- Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
- Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
- Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.

Requirements **:
- Have a degree in computer science, electrical engineering or other relevant fields.
- Have relevant knowledge in vision-based deep learning or artificial intelligence.
- Have relevant knowledge in software engineering and writing in python.
- Having relevant working experience in research or development will be advantages
