The Team: We are a development team, part of Consistent Customer Experience (CCX) in AWS Region Product Management organization. Our team works on the tooling that helps deploy and track services to every AWS region around the globe, and establish a single source of truth for AWS products and their regional availability. This team will have the opportunity to work on highly visible projects that directly impact hundreds of other teams at Amazon.
We need developers who move fast, are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and have a strong will to get things done. Developers at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world.
Key job responsibilities
• Design and code new RESTful APIs (Java/TypeScript) that support both web and programmatic callers
• Build natively on AWS, using serverless technologies (CloudFront, API Gateway, Lambda, SNS, SQS)
• Create backend systems that scale by leveraging NoSQL databases (DynamoDB)
• Develop dynamic front-end web applications and the backend APIs that power them
• Deliver front-end website UI (JavaScript, TypeScript, React) creating and translating mock-ups into code
• Raise the bar on quality, security, performance, scalability, usability and operations
• Stay abreast of developments and trends in Cloud architectures, web dev and programming languages
• Support the Region Services organization mission through the creation of tooling for AWS region builds, service expansion and feature tracking
• Establish relationships across development teams to programmatically integrate our services with other teams’ APIs

Basic Qualifications
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
