We’re looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join Octopus Energy for Business and support
Octopus’s rapidly expanding eMobility brand, Electroverse.
You’ll be part of the growing Electroverse Supply team that looks after the energy contracts for charge point operators (CPO’s). You will work closely with Octopus Energy for Business (OEB) and the Electroverse team to help expand our range of products, understand customer needs and provide specific reporting requirements. Become a lead stakeholder to reduce prices at different times of the day to accelerate the green energy transition. Using data to help understand customer requirements and push forward our day to day managing of CPO’s will be vital in this role.
What You'll Do
• Understand the requirements of CPO’s to help offer bespoke new tariffs and products
• Learn how to interact with data through a team of business analysts
• Interact with current and potential customers to secure renewals and expand our customer base
• Help improve efficiencies in the day to day managing of our current portfolio whilst working closely with our operational teams
• Support commercial activity through data analysis and insight, including in relation to pricing, hedging, debt management and financial forecasting
• Use SQL, Python and spreadsheets to deliver high quality data
• Work with internal departments to expand Octopus’ time of use tariffs as well as flexibility products in order to reduce prices for CPO’s at off peak times.
• Review existing arrangements and contracts, giving suggestions on alternatives as well as clear, actionable recommendations and measurable outcomes
• Be flexible with taking on responsibilities to help with the running of the CPO portfolio - such as speaking to customers, developing reporting tools, upgrading existing contracts and tariffs
• Build tools that can be self-serve for team members with frequently-repeated tasks
• Provide monthly reporting packs to monitor different aspects of performance
What You'll Need
• 1+ years of analytical experience
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to
• Passion for working in energy and contributing to the energy transition
• Curiosity and self-drive
• Strong analytical capabilities - being able to quantify requirements or problems and work through them based on rational principles is key
• Comfortable managing and interpreting data - you’ll need to be comfortable in Excel/Google Sheets and the ability to write SQL queries
• A knack for the detail and a desire to see things through to completion
• Ability to work on multiple projects and work streams simultaneously in an extremely fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Experience working in the energy industry is desirable
