Position Summary The primary role of the Senior Database Administrator will provide business knowledge and technical skills to implement technical strategies, and design, create, modify and review database objects. This is a Hybrid position, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Creates standards and executes processes for Installing, Configuring, Securing, and Monitoring Microsoft SQL Server in a high-availability environment • Participates in the allocation, planning and implementation of associated hardware resources. Implements database backup and recovery technologies including monitoring • Continuously monitors for performance bottlenecks in high-concurrency applications • Owns and solves performance issues of database applications by implementing changes to database objects and/or working with developers on application tuning efforts • Works with the development and project teams on database modeling and design • Creates, tunes, optimizes indexes, stored procedures, DTS/SSIS packages and SQL jobs • Assists in troubleshooting, performance tuning and general problem solving of SQL environment (infrastructure and code) • Works with Development and QA Team to validate data across Application boundaries and Analysis solutions • Identifies root cause of data quality issues in applications. • Develops repeatable process for resolving recurring data quality issues • Owns data issues and works with Application Team and Software Vendors on long-term issue resolution • Makes quick, confident decisions in emergency situations and mentors other team members on troubleshooting techniques • Troubleshoots database-related problems in applications, and effectively documents and communicates root causes that lie outside the database to the appropriate team (network, security, client configuration, application, etc) • DBA works with Developers, System Administrators, Architects, and IT Management to plan and size production and subordinate environments as new applications are added • Serves as steward of Data Protection, securing data access across all environments • Influences Network and OS Security configuration to ensure appropriate environment access controls are in place • Takes an active role in IT Operational Process Improvement, and activities related to software promotion though environments • Continually improves environment management though automation and scripting, allowing self-services refreshes of development environments where appropriate • Manage application builds and version control of database Qualifications Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) or equivalent from four-year college in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field preferred. 7+ years of hands on experience administering enterprise SQL database environments. 3+ years hands on experience with Dynamics AX 2012 database structure. Expert knowledge of T-SQL. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have core knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008 R2/ 20012/ 20016. Good understanding of database architecture, system processes, SSMS/SSIS and other SQL Server Tools. Working knowledge of DynPerf (Dynamics AX SQL performance analyzer), SQL profiler, Performance Dashboard, Perfmon. Comprehensive understanding of data import and export methodologies - BCP, DTS (Data Transformation Services, part of SQL 2000) and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services on SQL2005 and SQL 2008). Working knowledge of Dynamics AX table structure, relations, dependencies. Performance tuning, execution plan, troubleshooting, index and statistics. Database defragmentation & compression. High availability/scalability features and supporting architectures. Experience with MSSQL Agent (maintenance plan, scheduled jobs, alert, SQL Mail and DB Mail). Hands on experience with enterprise tier database platform monitoring tools. Working knowledge SQL data modeling. Conceptual knowledge of non-relational/column-based databases. Experience with MS SQL Database Mirroring (Build, Roll, maintenance & troubleshooting). Experience with MS SQL Replication (Transactional & Peer to Peer), Clustering, Backups & restores Data Refresh/Migration. TRN #LI-TM1 Position Hiring Range The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets. $115,050.00 - $153,400.00 Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive a team bonus based on meeting specific monthly goals and KPI's. Bonus amounts are based on the level of achievement and the total hours worked during the bonus eligible month.
