The Advancement Database Administrator (DBA) ensures the efficient operation of critical donor, alumni, and other constituent information in the school’s constituent database, The Raisers Edge and The Raisers Edge NXT (RE), and in other databases as needed. The DBA reports to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO), and is expected to identify and implement processes that lead to full utilization of the database. The DBA works closely with HKIS Information and Technology Services (ITS) to ensure compliance and alignment to standards as set by the data standards committee in the schoolwide data dictionary, assist with the synchronization of data from RE to and from other school systems, and ensures that the HKIS RE database follows and develops proven best practices in independent international schools advancement database management.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science, MIS, or similar data-intensive background.
• Candidates with extensive database management experience will also be considered.
Experience:
• 5 years’ experience in technology with a record of increasing responsibilities, with at least 2 years’ experience operating or managing a CRM system.
o Preferred: database management experience with The Raisers Edge, The Raisers Edge NXT, or other fundraising database management system.
o Preferred: experience using Tableau or comparable data analytics and visualization tools.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency with MS Office, Google Suite, etc.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English—Cantonese an advantage.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under time constraints.
• Calm, pleasant demeanor, and professional presentation.
