MatrixSpec Solutions is seeking a full-time Computer Vision and Machine Learning Researcher with a focus on image processing, machine learning, and deep learning. The candidate will work with our multidisciplinary research and development team to develop innovative solutions that have a concrete impact on agri-food industry applications. The successful candidate combines a solid technical background with strong communication skills to develop tools and algorithms for image data analysis and is motivated to solve challenging problems in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct research and experiments to solve problems related to hyperspectral image classification.
• Find creative solutions to current classification issues and identify new opportunities.
• Work closely with the imaging and system engineering teams to develop spectral and image processing algorithms for denoise/enhancement of hyperspectral images, ROI segmentation, and discriminative feature extraction for the proprietary vision systems.
• Improve current machine learning models to increase classification accuracy on terabyte scale datasets.
• Collaborate with different team members to improve and develop our systems.
• Present the work and findings (written reports and oral presentations)
Qualifications:
• Ph.D. and/or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering with 2-5 years of experience in the development of computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms.
• Exceptional capabilities on new algorithm development to solve classification problems based on machine learning and deep learning techniques.
• Extensive experience developing denoising, image quality enhancement, and image processing algorithms such as segmentation, object detection, and colour correction using either classical or deep learning methods.
• Advanced experience in algorithm development and analysis using Python and Matlab
• Experience in C++, OpenCV, and Qt
• Advanced knowledge in hyperspectral imaging
• Experience in parallel programming and working with high-volume data
• Excellent code design (OOP, Algorithms, and Data Structures)
• Must be a self-starter with a keen commitment to excellence.
• Fast learner who enjoys learning new concepts and becomes proficient in new areas quickly.
• Strong team player with result-oriented approach and high degree of self-motivation
• Ability to manage time effectively according to aggressive project schedules and quickly adapt to new project requirements
• Ability to work with agreed timelines and report on progress as and when due.
• Should be able to take initiative, but also follow a plan and work well as part of a team.
• Good written & verbal communication including presentation skills (in English)

Computer Vision and Machine Learning Researcher ’s salary shall be discussed based on the applicant’s experience and proficiency. We’re a startup, but we pay competitive salaries to ensure our team of experts earn what they deserve.
