Data Analyst - Analytics and ML
Overview:
We’re assisting our large retail client with the search for a Data Analyst who will join them on a 3-month contract basis with a possible extension.
As a key member of their team, the Data Analyst will collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Management, and Business Teams to gather project requirements, identify data sources, construct queries, develop machine learning models, and deliver insights.
• Location: Mississauga (Hybrid - 50% - on-site: 2-3 days a week)
• Duration: 3 months with a possible extension:
• Pay rates: $40-60/HR (relevant to skills and experience level)
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate data discussions with stakeholders and data sources.
• Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns and anomalies using SQL and Python.
• Develop and implement machine learning models.
• Collaborate with the business to understand requirements.
• Lead data analysis efforts with the product team to extract insights and propose solutions.
• Collect, organize, analyze, and present findings.
• Document project steps, questions, and processes using Confluence and JIRA.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience as a data analyst.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Confluence, and JIRA, Google GCP, Big Query
• Familiarity with identifying data sources and stewardship.
• Proficient in writing and executing SQL queries from various data sources.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Scrum ceremonies, and Agile Methodology.
• Strong SQL skills with experience handling large datasets.
• Knowledge of anomaly detection and various ML models and algorithms
