Job Profile
In this role, you will be the subject matter expert for database management technologies and platforms, providing technical leadership and direction for key strategic initiatives. You will work closely with Engineering and Infrastructure teams to develop database solutions to solve complex business problems.

Assess applications holistically, understanding their intricacies and impact on overall service delivery.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of database solutions within the broader application landscape.
Reverse engineer existing databases to models, to review and document their design.
Work with engineering and infrastructure teams to design and architect database solutions that meet the needs of the business.
Design scalable SQL and NoSQL databases; based on data processing and storage requirements, recommend the right database technology for applications and reporting.
Analyze performance results to identify bottlenecks, potential optimizations and highlight opportunities for performance improvements.
Design and deploy high availability and failover technologies for SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
Define procedures to test database backup and recovery solutions and create new ones using database backup technologies and/or storage replication technologies.
Define and establish enterprise support SLAs and standards. Work with the DBAs to define SOPs and best practices.
Inculcate a DevOps culture, provide guidance on automation of repeatable processes.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Database Architect with a focus on optimizing application performance.
Strong proficiency in Oracle database technologies; familiarity with Cassandra is a plus.
Excellent understanding of data modeling, backup and recovery, security measures, and scripting for automation.
Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on evolving database technologies.
