About the job:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Manager to join our dynamic team. As IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our information technology systems to ensure a seamless and efficient workflow for our creative and technical teams.
Applicants should be based in Australia and open to relocation to Sydney if not currently residing here.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive support and maintenance for a diverse range of Apple and PC hardware and software, including OSX, Windows, Linux, and servers.
• Configure switches, networks, servers, and clients.
• Support various in-house tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Nuke, Flame, Maya, and Houdini.
• Contribute to post-production pipeline and workflow design, with a preference for strong Python scripting skills.
• Develop and enforce security protocols to safeguard the studio's digital assets and sensitive information in line with industry requirements.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for IT systems, procedures, and configurations.
• Act as the primary point of contact with external vendors for security, networking, managed firewall, endpoint protection, satellite, and internet needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers.

Skills & Experience:
• Possess tertiary qualifications in IT or Computer Science (or equivalent industry experience).
• Proven experience as an IT Manager in a creative production environment, preferably in the VFX or animation industry.
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
• Experience with industry-standard software used in VFX and animation production.
• Manage help desk ticketing, escalation processes, and server administration.
• Demonstrate expertise in Windows Server/Active Directory and troubleshooting for enterprise environments.
• Exhibit the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintain organisation, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Display excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team and collaborate with various departments.

• Ideally, you will have an interest in or a good understanding of film & television post-production workflows.
• Possess a passion for R&D, new technology, and trends, and understand how this can be leveraged to continually improve the services we deliver.
• Be focused on being a main point of contact, helping staff with their IT setup and addressing general IT issues to ensure confidence in uninterrupted productivity.
• Enjoy the challenge of problem-solving under time pressure.
