Join our innovative team as a Senior QA Engineer, where you'll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge image and signal processing projects. This role is perfect for someone passionate about multimedia technologies, professional imaging, and application engineering. You'll design, develop, and execute comprehensive testing plans, ensuring the highest quality of our software and hardware products. Responsibilities: • Design and create test plans and cases using advanced techniques for software releases. • Execute manual and automated tests, reporting on coverage and progress. • Provide detailed feedback and record bugs/issues during testing. • Report and manage defects through a formal tracking system. • Collaborate with engineering and support teams to isolate, debug, and resolve issues. • Setup, configure, and maintain test environments, including hardware and software. • Clearly articulate test progress, results, and defects. Requirements: • Master's in Image Processing, Signal Processing, or related field with 3+ years experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience. • Proficiency in Python; MATLAB knowledge is a plus. • Experience with automation testing frameworks like Pytest or Pyunit. • Familiarity with at least one of the video encoding formats: HEVC, AV1, or VVC. • Knowledge of HDMI or DisplayPort video transmission protocols. • Familiarity with source control management tools like Git, GitLab, Perforce, and proficiency with JIRA for issue tracking and project management. • Excellent troubleshooting skills in complex system environments. • Strong problem-solving abilities and hardware-software interaction skills. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Results-oriented, continuous learner, and self-motivated team player. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced scrum agile development cycle and managing multiple parallel projects with flexibility in shifting priorities. Preferred Experience: • Knowledge of imaging technologies and file formats (color space, gamma, PQ, etc.) . • Familiarity with picture or video quality metrics, such as DeltaE 2000. • Knowledge of HDR technologies, including Dolby Vision and HDR10+. • Experience in building/shipping video playback devices (STBs, TVs, etc.). • Proficiency in working with various streaming technologies and protocols, including HLS (HTTP Live Streaming), MPEG-DASH, Microsoft Smooth Streaming, PlayReady DRM, MP4 containers, and Transport Stream containers. • Familiarity with wireless streaming protocols like AirPlay 2 and Miracast. • Familiarity with broadcast protocols such as ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) and DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting). • Experience with development/testing on embedded systems (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Arduino), digital cameras, and sensors. The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $131,300-$157,700, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
