As the Research Intern at the Rakuten Institute of Technology (RIT) Singapore, you will apply state-of-the-art research techniques to arrive at novel solutions to business problems in the NLP domain focusing on machine translation and large language models.
The team is working on a variety of NLP research and development projects that empower the globalization of Rakuten with multilingual NLP techniques.
Responsibilities:
Research and development of cutting-edge NLP techniques, including but not limited to the following:
Multilingual Translation Systems
Evaluation of Large Language Models
LLM Deployment and Efficiency
Advanced NLP techniques (Mixture of Experts, Knowledge Distillation, Synthetic Data Generation etc.)
Qualification:
Master or PhD students from related areas, e.g., computer science, machine learning, mathematics, etc. PhD preferred.
Good publication records in top-tier conferences, such as ACL, EMNLP, COLING, NAACL, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, AAAI, etc.
Good programming skills, familiar with deep learning models and major deep learning programming frameworks, especially PyTorch and Hugging Face.
Self-driven, innovative, collaborative, good communication and presentation skills.
