ROLE: Data & Analytics Tester LOCATION: UK (Remote) SECURITY: SC Clearable Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Data Warehouse and Analytics Tester to join our team. As a Tester specializing in Data Warehouse and Analytics, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our data solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, focusing on data integrity, ETL processes, and analytics outputs. Your efforts will contribute directly to the quality and efficiency of our data-driven decision-making processes. Responsibilities: • Test Plan Development: Create and implement detailed test plans and test cases for Data Warehouse components, ETL processes, and analytical systems. • Data Validation: Perform rigorous data validation and integrity checks to ensure accurate data transformation, migration, and integration across various systems. • ETL Testing: Conduct end-to-end testing of ETL processes to verify data extraction, transformation, and loading into the Data Warehouse. • Analytics Testing: Validate the accuracy and reliability of analytics outputs, including reports, dashboards, and data visualizations. • Regression Testing: Execute regression tests to ensure that system changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities. • Performance Testing: Assess the performance and scalability of the Data Warehouse and analytics solutions under varying conditions. • Defect Management: Document, track, and prioritize defects, working collaboratively with development teams to resolve issues efficiently. • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage. Requirements: • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on Data Warehouse and Analytics Testing. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL for data validation, understanding of ETL processes, experience with testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, Apache JMeter), and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify discrepancies or irregularities. • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to testing with a keen eye for detail to ensure data accuracy and system reliability. • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. • Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Preferred Qualifications: • Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) or related field. • Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
