Job Description
Expedia Group is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for an 11-month temporary assignment in Chicago, IL. The engineer will work on managing feature stores for AI ML teams and provide low latency services for model inferencing use cases. Responsibilities include designing and developing machine learning systems and applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and participating in technology reviews.
Requirements
• Degree with a strong technical focus (Computer Science, Engineering)
• Minimum of 3+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in Python, Go, and Java
• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, and Hive
• Familiarity with real-time applications and streaming platforms (e.g. Spark, Kafka, Kinesis)
• Understanding of machine learning pipelines and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch (preferred)
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure) and workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow)
• Ability to contribute to the design and architecture of complex software systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
• Experience in Java and handling highly scalable systems (beneficial)
• Knowledge of databases (SQL, NoSQL) and Spark (a plus)
Additional Information
This is a hybrid position in Chicago, IL, requiring reporting onsite 2-3 days per week. Contractors are hired and employed through Atrium, Expedia Group’s third-party payrolling partner.
