Position Overview The Business Analyst provides analytical support for the development of technology solutions that meet business needs. He / She assists senior team members with projects. He / She partners with stakeholders to identify, clarify, and document complex issues they are facing. He / She assists with the assessment of the viability and effectiveness of technical systems and business processes can in meeting these needs. He / She facilitates communication between business and technology teams. He / She has a passion for learning and is comfortable exploring and analysing data. He / She also adopts a structured and systematic approach to analysing business processes and solving problems Role & Responsibilities Business Analyst - who is also involved in programming or configuration which are development scope of work The Business Analyst modifies, enhances or adapts existing or proposed systems within an organisation with the purpose of improving business efficiency and productivity. He/She plans activities involving the examination and documentation of technical requirements for new solutions to be created and user needs analysis. He/She analyses the feasibility of new systems and enhancements to existing systems, translates technical requirements into system specifications and writes test cases. He/She develops documentation and guides for the use of new or enhanced systems. He/She manages analysis projects. He/she is open-minded and innovative in exploring new and alternative solutions to optimise systems. He/She is able to engage and support others in the team, and readily put forth his ideas in a clear and compelling manner. Identify business needs • Liaise with stakeholders to identify business needs • Conduct in-depth analysis of the business requirements specifications and feasibility studies on possible solutions • Support the development of business cases defining potential benefits, solutions to increase efficiencies of business processes and associated risks Analyse business processes • Support the review of existing business processes to identify opportunities • Develop alternative solutions to streamline processes • Evaluate the viability and feasibility of possible improvements to processes • Support the development of recommendations to increase efficiency of processes • Develop reports and strategic analysis of business processes Translate business requirements into technical specification • Determine optimal means of meeting needs and requirements • Translate business requirements and user needs into functional specifications • Collaborate with developers to ensure requirements are incorporated into system design • Function as the liaison between users and technical staff throughout the solution implementation cycle • Work with relevant stakeholders on user acceptance testing • Verify that business requirements are incorporated into the design • Manage risks associated with solution integration Facilitate change management • Support the development of change management plans • Develop technical documentation and training materials • Conduct user training to facilitate adoption of new systems • Act as a point of contact for users regarding complex queries Manage projects • Schedule activities to drive deliverables toward meeting the overall project plan • Work with users, technical staff and management to determine and resolve issues associated with Project implementation • Review work at critical milestones with team leader or sponsor to maintain their commitment and support • Provide timely and accurate project progress information Requirements Key Competency • Adaptability/flexibility with respect to changing end-user business needs • Critical thinking and willingness to see things in an open-minded way and examine an idea or concept from as many angles as possible • Dependability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner • Initiative to recognize assignments or tasks that need to be completed, to seek out additional assignments or tasks, and to help others • Interpersonal skills, particularly within the user group with which they will work to facilitate decisions and find solutions even amidst disagreeing stakeholders • The ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and subject matter experts • Willingness to learn new software and systems • Listening attentively to ensure that the intended message has been accurately received, holding responses until the person has finished making their point, and repeating information to ensure accuracy • Seeking, logically examining, and interpreting information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence • Relationship building to gain trust and establish effective relationships with vendor and stakeholders • Resilience to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures Qualifications • Minimum 5 years of experience in developing, implementing and maintaining IT systems. • Successful record of accomplishment in project management, user and vendor management and as a project lead for small to mid-scale projects. • Experience in MS Windows environment & application support. • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently. • Experience in healthcare industry is an added advantage. • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or IT equivalent.
