My client is looking to make a critical hire with the Senior Azure-Cloud Database Engineer to lead the team in all responsibilities within database administration. It is key for this person to have a depth of experience in cloud, all My-SQL, Oracle and it is of benefit if this person also has experience with Azure and Postgres.
Data management, good alignment and understanding of data management and technologies is key for this position, and with this being a critical role, my client is looking for someone from a banking and finance background.
They are looking for a self-starter, collaborative team player who values integrity, takes accountability and responsibility, and is self-sufficient, with 7+ years of experience within database administration and banking and finance. ROLE PURPOSE & KEY PRIORITIES & KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESSenior Azure Cloud Database Engineer is responsible for the management and maintenance of databases in Azure Cloud Space . Good experience in administration of Oracle, MSSQL, MySql and Postgres Databases as PaaS or IaaS model. Role Objectives:Install and configure database components as managed services or IaaS.Perform capacity planning, DR setup, and cloud migration of OnPrem DB.Handle security, access management, backup, recovery, and storage in the cloud.Implement various DB migration options, monitor performance, and ensure availability.Contribute to project planning, change management, and release deployments.Conduct database hardening, security baselining, and manage audit requirements.Address Datawarehouse and ETL workload, troubleshoot issues, and evaluate new tools in the cloud.Manage database patching, technical documentation, and high availability solutions.

Skills & Accountabilities:10+ years of overall experience.Expertise in high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, recovery, replication, encryption, and security management in Cloud and Onprem.Knowledgeable in database design, documentation, and SQL coding.Proficient in troubleshooting various databases, communication skills, and performance tuning.Experience with Oracle, SQL-MI, MySQL-MI, Postgres-MI, and SQL-Server.Familiarity with Cloud Native platforms, automation using Terraform, Chef, and Ansible.24/7 support for maintaining cloud databases and adherence to security standards.Extensive knowledge of Azure Cloud PaaS services, ADF, DataLake.Skills in configuring Physical and Logical Data Guard, Replication, and Messaging Queuing.
