OFFICE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Senior Systems Analyst (Role: Data Engineer) (23240038) Reporting to the Senior Information Technology Manager, the appointee will be an in-house expert in Data Lake, Analytics and Visualisation to ensure the data analytics systems and tools fully support business processes and needs, and assist in the implementation. Responsibilities: Design and analyse data by collaborating closely with a range of stakeholders including the architecture team, business users (both academic and administrative), and third-party data providers; Engineer data integration and management, and leverage data analytics to translate the data into business-driven insights to facilitate better and faster decision making; Collaborate with different Project teams with data owners to ensure comprehensive data ETL design, development, optimising and automation and following IT Controls practices (e.g. IT Governance, Data Privacy) to ensure quality output; Perform analysis on large/diverse datasets by using various data analytics tools and techniques to uncover valuable insights, pinpoint areas for improvement, and propose data-driven strategies to optimise operational processes; Perform data migration and data mining activities to identify new business opportunities and provide actionable insights; Develop customised dashboard system for management reporting; and Perform other IT projects and assignments as assigned. Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline; At least 5 years’ work experience in data analytics, data modelling, and database design and administration; Implementation experience in modern data architecture, micro-services, and/or traditional DW/ETL design; Hands-on experience of using Oracle Cloud, MS Azure, AWS, PowerBI, Tableau, QlikSense and/or statistical package such as SAS, Alteryx; Sound knowledge of programming language such as SQL, Python, Java, Stored Procedures and Linux/Unix shell script, PHP is preferred; Knowledge of and experience in data management & governance best practice, methods and frameworks an advantage; Strong interpersonal skills needed to work effectively with a wide variety of internal and external resources; and Good team player while be able to work independently with proficiency in problem solving and troubleshooting. Work Location : Tsuen Wan Campus Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract for up to two years.Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
