The Opportunity:
The purpose of our Data Science function within the Emerging Capabilities team is to support the Chief Climate Office. We aim at developing and delivering the best-in-class data insights to assist the exploration and implementation of new data products for the organisation. Climate strategy is a major focus of our function with several projects exploring the opportunities and challenges in agricultural and residential portfolios and the management and reporting of financed emissions.
The Role:
As a Data Engineer, you will bring extensive expertise to the team on building the climate data assets and moving models from experimental code to production. Additionally, you will be creating the necessary data pipelines between our data assets. You will be responsible for configuring our infrastructure to run models in production using market leading tools to empower non-technical people to contribute to the overall success of NAB’s climate strategy.
Day to day will include:
• Active engagement in the whole lifecycle of data services
• Monitoring, measuring, and maintaining availability and health of our data assets and associated platforms, working closely with our technology partners
• Managing incidents/problems, applying fixes, and resolving systematic issues; triaging issues with stakeholders and identifying and implementing solutions to restore productivity
• Looking for opportunities to automate, build and maintain our data pipelines
What you bring to the role:
• Hands-on design, build and implementation experience on Data Engineering pipelines using SQL and Python
• Experience with designing and building data solutions in Cloud (preferably with AWS and Databricks)
