PROJECT OVERVIEW
Data Centre Operations (DCO), Data Centre Networks (DCN) requires two Technology Architects with senior level experience in Data Centre Network (DCN) Infrastructure management, service delivery processes, infrastructure policies, procedures and directions, cost models, government procurement processes, gathering of client business requirements and deployment and operationalization of Enterprise Data Centre Network architecture and gear.
The resources will have expert knowledge of Data Centre Network Infrastructure service models hosted within a Tier-IV Data Centre environment combined with a solid background in contemporary networking and hosting approaches including Hybrid Cloud, Hyper Converged environments, Cloud Connect technologies and integrating On-Premises and Off-Premises Cloud infrastructure.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Responsibilities:
Develops, recommends, implements, and manages the technical architecture (hardware, software, database, and communications) used for all or specific applications in a large, distributed cross-platform environment. Responsibilities also include identifying relevant information and determining the development environment.
General Skills:
- Leadership experience in developing and implementing technical architectures at the specified experience level.
- Extensive experience with at least three different platforms, operating systems, environments, database technologies, and communications protocols.
- Experience with middleware and gateways.
- Knowledge of performance considerations in different environments.
- Experience in structured methodologies for designing, developing, and implementing applications.
- Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large systems environments.
- Knowledge and experience designing processes around ITIL, guiding others using this methodology.
- Experience translating business requirements into reporting needs.
- Experience preparing conceptual, logical, and/or physical processes and data models.
- Experience developing, recommending, implementing, and managing technical architecture.
- Experience in the use of Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and other software tools like project management tools.
- Awareness of emerging technologies, trends, and directions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.
- Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g., models).
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g., models) based on Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes and practice.
- Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Content Management (Open Text ECM applications).
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
SKILL SET AND EVALUATION CRITERIA
1. In depth knowledge of Data Centre Networks (DCN) Infrastructure Technology and Architecture
- Demonstrated 10+ years’ experience working at an Enterprise level in a technical or business capacity with experience in n-Tiered Data Centre Networks and Tier-IV Data Centre environments.
2. Experience deploying new complex DCN Technologies in a Tier-IV Certified Data Centre
- Demonstrated 10+ years preparing/developing and executing implementation and cut-over plans for modernized Data Centre Network gear such as routers, switches, firewalls and Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) Fabric environments related to complex Enterprise Data Centre Networks hosted in certified Tier-IV Data centre.
3. Understanding of DCN service strategies and provider models as well as SysTrust and PCI compliancy.
- Demonstrated 8+ years’ experience evaluating, analyzing and developing Data Centre Network strategies and models and working in environments that are subject to annual SysTrust and PCI audits.
