What you'll be doing as our Frontend Product Engineer ???? As our Senior Frontend Product Engineers you'll spend the majority of your time coding, but you'll also have responsibilities outside of coding, for example - working with our Product Team to refine the Roadmap & digging into usage data with our Analyst. You'll be helping your team test products, build prototypes, and brainstorm experiments to make our product better. All of this means, we will be able to ship our products and features faster, and to a higher quality, to really impact our users' experience. We want people who aren't afraid to take ownership of building great products, and are empowered to make the best changes that need to be made. What you'll actually be doing: • Working on our cross-platform app, includes, web, android and ios on one code base • Working on internal and external portals • Helping to migrate legacy code to new system How we build/How we work: If you've worked in a startup environment before, you'll most likely have worked in similar ways to us, here at Bippit. We're a small and highly flexible team, our Product and Engineering teams work very closely together, which helps make effective & fast decisions about the product. Once an idea has been formed, Product validates the idea, we spec out at high level stakeholders, Prod/Eng works together on the spec (along with Design & QA) , responsibility is on the Engineering team for building and deploying. Our Tech Stack: • The Bippit app: React Native (Android, iOS, and Web, using Expo + Next.js w/ Nativewind) • Our external portal: Fullstack React w/ Next.js + Tailwind • Our legacy internal portals: Laravel + Svelte • Documentation and testing frameworks (OpenAPI, Storybook, Testing Library) • APIs - Firebase Auth, OpenAPI, Open Banking • CI/CD (CircleCI, EAS) How to be an excellent fit ???? (for the role, and a great addition to Bippit's culture) What we're looking for: • Experience as a Senior level frontend engineer working on product-focused applications • Strong product sense - you can build good UI and UX that converts well without too much help, ability to input in design / product sessions • Strong experience with modern fullstack React - Frameworks like Next.js, Remix, etc • Hybrid app experience -primarily React Native, but would consider candidates with Android, iOS, or other Hybrid framework experience • Experience turning digital designs into front end code (e.g. using Figma, Sketch, etc) • High ownership and autonomy - we want you to feel comfortable and confident in your decision making It's a bonus if you have: • Experience or knowledge of the Firebase ecosystem of APIs - Firebase Auth, Analytics, etc • Some backend knowledge, or interest in learning (Rust, Node.js) • Previous product roles or evidence of working in a product engineering capacity • Fintech experience • Data visualisation Engineering Interview Process: 1. People Screening - 30 mins - Basic Experience understanding, values alignment and answering your initial Questions 2. Hiring Manager Call - Louis (Head of Engineering) - Technical Skills & Team alignment - 30 mins 3. Take home coding test 4. Code Review - Louis - 30 mins - in-person review of your take home test, explanation and questioning 5. Product Meet & Greet - Product Team - 30 mins - understanding and alignment of how our ProdEng function works 6. Final Stage - Sam L (Founder and CEO) - 40 mins - mission deep dive, values alignment and Q&A This should go without saying but all applications are very much welcome.
