Solicitor / Associate - Commercial IP, IT, TMT & Retail – 12-Month FTC
Our client, a prestigious UK law firm, is seeking a talented individual to join their team on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, covering a period of maternity leave. This is an exceptional opportunity to become a part of one of the most highly regarded private practice commercial teams in the City of London for an initial 12 months, with a strong possibility of extension.
Role and Responsibilities:
As an Associate, you will be pivotal in providing maternity cover for a key member of the Commercial group, focusing on retail, commercial, and technology work. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of duties, including managing your workload effectively, providing legal advice in a succinct manner, and collaborating with junior team members. You will apply a commercial approach to deliver advice tailored to each client, support business development activities, and contribute to divisional knowledge.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with at least 4 PQE, possessing strong technical knowledge in commercial, IP, IT, and technology-related contracts. Practical experience in consumer law, data protection, and e-commerce is highly desirable. A proven track record in business development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team are essential. Familiarity with large technology infrastructure projects and expertise in IP/tech aspects of transactions will set you apart.
Background:
Our client is happy to consider candidates coming from either a private practice or in-house legal background. A mixture of both would be helpful, but some private practice experience would be highly advantageous.
