Nair Systems, DIFC is currently looking for Principal Specialist - Application & Databases for our UAE operations with the following skillset and terms & conditions.
Job Purpose
• *Experience**:
- Oracle EBS (R12.2.x) : Application upgrades, patching, performance fine tuning, securing the environment, sizing the environment for the business growth, Disaster recovery experience, regular clones, working with various monitoring tools. 24X7 Oracle SR, exposure to multimode mission critical environment would be added advantage
- Oracle Database (19c onwards): database upgrades, RAC configurations, evaluating PSU updates and preparing Patch analysis, utilizing the advanced Features such as partitioning, compression, and data encryption etc. exposure to shell scripting in Unix environment will be added advantage.
- Oracle WebLogic Server: Monitor, identify and handle the stuck thread situations, PSU patching, fine-tuning the WLS time-out thresholds and memory structures to get optimal reliable performance
- Architecture: Design the data flow, propose the suitable components for the integrations with justifications.
Prepare technology road map including upgrade/decommission process with various technical components in order to sustain the vendor support contracts.
- Capacity Planning: Capture the business requirements, review the existing resource utilizations and prepare the forecast for the resources with evidences and justifications.
- Project Management: Demonstrate the skills with preparation of project plan, factors consider at various stages of the project, proposing the times lines and collaborative efforts with involved resources
Job Accountability
- Perform Oracle DB upgrades.
- Perform Oracle EBS and DB upgrades
- High skills in managing configuring and troubleshooting DB servers and DB clusters.
- Planning and Managing Backup and Recovery, Logical/Export Backups, Cold Backups, Hot Backup, RMAN Backups, Full and Incremental Backups
- Create RMAN Scheduler Jobs for Incremental hot backups of 24/7 11g Database
- Monitor disk & table space alerts, database wait events, hang analysis, locks using EM Grid control.
- Create, Manage, and administer database objects, including tables, indexes, views, sequences, functions, packages, and procedures provided by development team.
- Troubleshoot problems with Concurrent Managers.
- Creating the Users and groups in the O/S. Creating the NFS mounts in the system.
- Configuring, administering, and troubleshooting standby (logical/physical) databases environment in single DB instance and RAC/ASM environments.
- Troubleshooting different performance issues
- Hang analysis & Cluster eviction issues
- SQL Tuning with different methodologies, SQL Profiles, and SQL restructure
- Gather Statistics with different strategies based on workload and business
- Database Tuning, Memory Tuning, Backup Tuning & Data Pump Tuning
Database Resource Manager (DBRM).
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent
Certifications
- Relevant certification in database management such as Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) or equivalent
Skill Set
- Knowledge of technical troubleshooting
- Very good skills as Solution Architect
- Very good Understanding of System Development Lifecycle
- Expert knowledge of various Database systems like Oracle, SQL, mangoDb etc
- Very good Knowledge of programming languages, such as Java, C++, Python and Perl
- Excellent debugging and optimisation skills
- Excellent planning and organizing skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadline
- Strong analytical skills
- Fluent written and spoken English essential, Arabic preferred
