Senior Oracle DBA

A pioneer in fully digital banking and financial services is seeking a Senior Database Architect to join the team responsible for enhancing & mitigating risk in a critical environment within a major customer-facing application team. This includes: supporting our snowflake and oracle environments (data request, performance monitoring, query construction), executing deployments, access management, audits, incident management support, change management, etc.
Required skills:
• 7+ years working with Oracle DBMS & Database tools (Oracle enterprise manager, PL/SQL & Query building)
• Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field
• Working knowledge with AWS (Amazon Web Services)
• Strong working experience in developing PL/SQL scripts
• Proficient experience in AWR reporting, Oracle scripting, OEM monitoring, Oracle active data guard/oracle golden gate & database replication
• Proficient in database architecture & design
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Improve and maintain database partition and index structures in snowflake and oracle databases
• Automate performance enhancing jobs such as index rebuilding and data archiving
• Generate AWR Reports and analyze for system or query slowness, along with develop ing PL/SQL scripts for performance improvement and data fixes
• Analyze problematic queries to re-write or create SQL Profiles as needed
• Setup and design database monitoring reports and alerts
• Participate in technical discussions with the development and/or System DBA Teams for
deployments and code reviews
• Review Change Requests for database activity including patching and system upgrades
• Verify and maintain instantaneous database replication syncing through Oracle Active Data Guard and Oracle Golden Gate
• Facilitate troubleshooting sessions with System DBA, Unix Operations Teams and business users.
• Lead the implementation of Change Requests
• Troubleshoot incident tickets and provide quick communications and solutions to users
